A d.d.p. nos terminais de qualquer condutor metálico filiforme e homogéneo, a temperatura constante, é diretamente proporcional à intensidade da corrente que o percorre. <u style="font-weight: bold;">U/I </u>= constante<br />

<b><u>Condutores óhmicos:</u></b><br />
Os condutores óhmicos são aqueles que respeitam a lei de Ohm, ou seja, cuja resistência tem sempre o mesmo valor, qualquer que seja o circuito elétrico onde estão instalados.<br />

Nestes condutores, a representção gráfica da d.d.p. (U) em função da intensidade da corrente (I) é uma linha reta que passa pela origem das coordenadas (relação de proporcionalidade direta).<br />

<b><u>Condutores não óhmicos:</u></b><br />
Os condutores não óhmicos são aqueles que não respeitam a lei de Ohm, ou seja, cuja resistência não apresenta um valor constante.<br />
